BaZi — literally "Eight Characters" — maps your birth year, month, day, and hour onto the 十天干 (Ten Heavenly Stems) and 十二地支 (Twelve Earthly Branches). The resulting Four Pillars reveal your Day Master (日主), elemental strengths and weaknesses, and the quality of your major luck cycles. FengShui AI calculates your chart from the birth details you provide and uses Claude AI to interpret it in plain language.

The 7-Day Briefing generates a personalised daily energy forecast for the next 7 days starting from today. Each day shows the day pillar (天干地支), an overall energy score, wealth & career outlook, relationship energy, cautions, and a do/avoid list — all calculated from the interaction between that day's stems and branches and your natal Four Pillars. The forecast is cached for the day and refreshes automatically each morning. This is a Pro-exclusive feature.

Feng Shui is the Chinese art of arranging living and working spaces to harmonise with the flow of 氣 (Qi, life force). FengShui AI provides directional and environmental guidance based on your Day Master and the current period, helping you identify favourable sectors, colours, and remedies for your home or office. The app also features a live compass tool so you can accurately capture your facing direction on-site in real time.

Flying Stars (Xuan Kong Fei Xing 玄空飛星) is a Feng Shui system that maps nine energy stars across a building's floor plan based on its facing direction and construction period. FengShui AI generates the Flying Stars chart for your property and interprets the energy quality of each sector for the current year — including wealth, health, and conflict stars.

Qi Men Dun Jia is one of the "Three Arts" of Chinese divination, traditionally used for strategy and decision-making. A QMDJ chart places 九星 (Nine Stars) and 八門 (Eight Gates) across a 洛書 (Luo Shu) 3×3 grid that changes hourly. FengShui AI generates the current chart for your longitude using true solar time (真太陽時) and interprets it in relation to your question.

Palm reading analyses the lines, mounts, and shape of your hand to assess personality, relationships, and life trajectory. Upload a clear photo of your palm and the AI provides an in-depth interpretation. Your photo is processed in real time and never stored — see the Privacy section for full details.

Face reading (Mian Xiang 面相) interprets facial features — forehead, eyes, nose, mouth, and bone structure — to assess character, fortune, and destiny. Like palm reading, your photo is processed in real time and not retained after the reading is returned.

The Affinity reading compares two people's BaZi Four Pillars to assess compatibility across life domains — romance, career synergy, communication style, and long-term potential. Enter both people's birth details and select the relationship type (romantic, friendship, or business) for a detailed, domain-by-domain analysis with strengths and cautions.

The Combo reading generates a merged BaZi narrative for two people — covering shared elemental energies, complementary strengths, potential friction points, and combined luck cycle timing. It is best suited for couples or long-term partners who want a holistic picture rather than a side-by-side comparison.

The Oracle feature uses a digital casting of the I-Ching (易經) 64 hexagrams to answer a specific question you pose. Type your question, cast the virtual coins, and the AI interprets the resulting hexagram and any changing lines directly in the context of your situation.

The Auspicious Date Finder identifies favourable dates for important activities — weddings, travel, signing contracts, renovation, starting a business, and more. It cross-references each candidate date's BaZi stems and branches, Chinese almanac (黃曆) data, and your personal Day Master clash/combine profile to highlight the best and worst dates within a date range you select.

FengShui AI combines deterministic Chinese metaphysics calculations (BaZi stems/branches, QMDJ palace assignments, Flying Stars) with Claude AI for narrative interpretation. The underlying calculations follow classical methods and produce the same result every time for the same birth data. The narrative interpretation is AI-generated and reflects centuries of traditional commentary. Results should be treated as a guide for reflection — not as scientific predictions or professional advice.

No. All readings are for cultural exploration, self-reflection, and entertainment only. Do not make significant health, financial, legal, or relationship decisions based solely on AI-generated readings. Always consult a qualified professional for matters of consequence.

Your birth hour determines the Hour Pillar of your BaZi chart and, together with your birth date, identifies your Day Master (日主). An inaccurate birth time shifts the Hour Pillar and may affect the reading. If your exact birth time is unknown, use your best estimate or the middle of the likely range — the other three pillars will still be accurate.

Tap Upgrade in the Membership section of your Profile, or tap any Pro-locked feature. You will be directed to our website to complete your purchase securely via Stripe. After payment, your Pro status activates immediately — log out and back in if it does not reflect straight away.

Log in to your account at our website and manage your subscription there, or email support@fengshui-ai.com with the subject "Cancel Subscription". Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Go to Profile → Edit Profile and update your display name. Changes are saved to your account immediately.

On the Login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your registered email address. You will receive a password-reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive.

Email support@fengshui-ai.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from your registered email address. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days and confirm in writing.

No. Photos you upload are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection, processed by the AI, and the result is returned to you. Neither FengShui AI nor our backend retains the image after the API call completes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

No. The Live Compass reads your device's magnetometer (compass sensor) in real time to determine your facing direction. The heading data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted or stored. The app does not access your GPS at any time during compass use.

Yes. Your birth date, time, and gender are stored in an encrypted database (Supabase, SOC 2 Type II certified). This data is used solely to generate and personalise your readings. We never sell or share it with third parties for advertising.

Go to your device Settings → Apps → FengShui AI → Notifications and toggle them off. You can also manage notification preferences from within the app's Profile settings. Disabling notifications does not affect any other app functionality.

Email support@fengshui-ai.com with the subject line "Data Access Request". We will provide a copy of your personal data in a readable format within 30 days.

The number of daily readings depends on your plan. Free users have a limited daily quota; Pro users have unlimited readings. Your daily count resets at midnight (device local time).

Reading counts reset at midnight local time. If your count appears stale, try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, contact support@fengshui-ai.com.

Tap the Account tab, then select Reading History. Your past readings are saved automatically and organised by date and type. You can review, re-read, or share any previous reading from this screen.

Yes. After any reading is generated, tap the Share button to generate a shareable card with your key results. You can save the card to your photo library or share it directly to messaging apps and social media.

The Live Compass lets you capture your precise facing direction in real time — useful when taking a Feng Shui or Flying Stars reading at the actual location.

• Point your phone in the direction you want to measure
• Hold steady until the Stable ✓ badge appears
• Tap Capture Direction — the bearing is automatically filled into the reading form

For best results, hold the phone flat and away from metal objects or electronic devices.

Qi Men Dun Jia charts are computed using true solar time (真太陽時), which varies by longitude. Selecting your nearest city allows the app to apply the correct solar-time offset so the hourly palace assignments match classical calculation. The app uses only the city's longitude — it does not access your GPS.

AI readings require a stable internet connection. If a reading fails:

• Check your internet connection and try again
• If errors persist, the AI service may be temporarily busy — wait a few minutes and retry
• Persistent issues can be reported to support@fengshui-ai.com

Go to Profile → Settings and tap the EN / 中 language toggle. The app supports English and Traditional Chinese. Your preference is saved and applied immediately across all screens.

Tap the profile picker at the top of any reading screen (or in your Account tab). You can add profiles for family members or friends and switch between them freely. Each profile stores its own name, birth date, time, and gender for personalised readings.
