Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide personalised metaphysical readings and to operate the app.

Information you provide directly:

• Birth details — date of birth, time of birth (optional), and gender. Used exclusively to generate your BaZi chart and personalised readings.
• Profile name — the name you enter for yourself or saved profiles within the app.
• Account credentials — email address and password if you create an email account, or your Google account name and email if you sign in via Google OAuth.
• Photos — palm and face images you upload or capture for reading analysis. These are processed by our AI and are not stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
• Floor plans — images you upload for Feng Shui analysis. Processed and discarded after the reading is generated.

Information collected automatically:

• Reading history — your past readings, stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your account in the cloud.
• App usage data — session counts and total reading counts, used to enforce fair-use limits on the free tier.
• Device locale — used to determine your local date and time for daily briefing calculations. Not stored.
• Device compass sensor — when you use the Live Compass feature in Feng Shui or Flying Stars, the app reads your device's magnetometer to calculate your facing direction. Readings are processed entirely on-device in real time and are never transmitted or stored.
• Push notification token (FCM) — if you grant notification permission, your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored on our servers solely to deliver personalised daily briefings and auspicious date reminders. You can revoke this at any time by disabling notifications in your device settings or within the app.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate personalised BaZi charts, daily briefings, and metaphysical readings
• To save and display your reading history across sessions
• To authenticate your identity and manage your account
• To synchronise your birth profiles and reading history across devices (authenticated users only)
• To enforce daily session limits on the free tier
• To improve app reliability and diagnose technical issues

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in two ways depending on your account status:

• On-device (all users) — birth details, profiles, and reading history are always saved locally to your device using encrypted shared preferences. This works even without an internet connection.
• Cloud (authenticated users) — if you create an account or sign in with Google, your data is synchronised to Supabase, a secure cloud database with row-level security. Only you can access your data.

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We do not store photo or floor plan images after your reading is generated.

Third-Party Services

FengShui AI uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — cloud database and authentication platform. Stores your account and reading data securely. supabase.com/privacy
• Anthropic Claude API — the AI model that generates all readings. Your birth details and questions are sent to Anthropic's API for analysis. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models. anthropic.com/privacy
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in via your Google account. Only your name and email are shared with us upon sign-in. policies.google.com/privacy
• Railway — cloud hosting for our API server that proxies requests to Anthropic. Data passes through but is not stored. railway.app/legal/privacy
• Firebase (Google) — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) is used to deliver push notifications (daily briefings, auspicious date reminders). Your device push token is stored on our server for this purpose only and is deleted when you disable notifications or delete your account. firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Camera & Photo Access

The app requests access to your device camera and photo library solely for palm reading and face reading features. Images are:

• Captured or selected by you voluntarily
• Sent securely to our AI server for analysis only
• Not stored, indexed, or retained after the reading is returned
• Never shared with third parties beyond the AI analysis pipeline

You may deny camera access at any time in your device settings. Palm and face reading features will be unavailable without it.

Children's Privacy

FengShui AI is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information via the app's profile settings
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Portability — request your reading history in a portable format
• Withdraw consent — uninstall the app at any time; local data is removed with the app

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service:

• Active accounts — data is retained while your account is active
• Reading history — stored for up to 200 readings; oldest are automatically removed as new ones are added
• Deleted accounts — all cloud data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Local data — remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of FengShui AI after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
